MEETING ON TURKMENISTAN'S INITIATIVES AT THE 80TH SESSION OF THE UN GENERAL ASSEMBLY
On November 26, 2025, a meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event focused on the importance of the draft resolution entitled “The Key Role of Reliable and Stable Energy Connectivity in Ensuring Sustainable Development,” which is to be submitted for consideration at the United Nations General Assembly.
The keynote address to the students was delivered by Kakajan Mommadov, Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Institute. Mr. Mommadov is an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan and a recipient of the “Türkmenistanyň ussat diplomaty” (Master Diplomat of Turkmenistan) badge of distinction.
In his remarks, Mr. Mommadov emphasized that reliable and sustainable energy constitutes a fundamental element of sustainable development, economic resilience, the enhancement of social welfare, and the protection of the environment. He further noted that the implementation of this initiative would support the development of a robust transport and communication infrastructure and promote the integration of renewable energy sources into the global energy system.
The regular organization of such meetings within the framework of the “National School of Turkmen Diplomacy” makes a significant contribution to expanding students’ political awareness and strengthening their academic competencies in the fields of international relations and diplomacy.
