A TRAINING SEMINAR DEDICATED TO WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY HAS BEEN HELD
On June 5, 2026, a training seminar dedicated to World Environment Day was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Organized for the students of the Institute, the event was aimed at deepening their understanding of global climate systems and exploring effective pathways toward sustainability.
During the seminar, Nazar Meredov, the coordinator of the Scientific-Methodological Center for Sustainable Development Goals of the Institute, underlined the significance of Turkmenistan's international initiatives aimed at environmental protection and sustainable development, put forward under the wise leadership of our highly esteemed President.
Furthermore, participants were introduced to the "En-ROADS Climate Solutions Simulator," a complex online modeling tool developed by Climate Interactive and the MIT Sloan Sustainability Initiative. Students exchanged views on how policy and technological decisions related to energy supply, land use, transportation, and carbon emission reductions could impact the future of our planet.
The students gained valuable experience in systems thinking and evidence-based decision-making. This hands-on practice helped them acquire essential skills necessary for conducting negotiations and supporting environmental protection initiatives.
