Training Session on the Sustainable Development Goals
On June 11, 2025, a training session titled “Water — A Vital Resource Ensuring Human Life and a Global Source of Sustainable Development.International Initiatives and Experience of Turkmenistan’’ was held at the Scientific and Methodological Center for Sustainable Development Goals of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The session was conducted by Gulshirin Charygulyyeva, the Deputy of the Department Head of Legal Personnel and Special Affairs of the Caspian Sea Institute of Turkmenistan. During the training, the global importance of water and its impact on human life and economy were highlighted. It was emphasized that water takes an important place among the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The rational and efficient use of water resources is essential for protecting nature, but also plays a key role in ensuring public health, food security, and economic development.
The significant international initiatives of Turkmenistan in cooperation with the United Nations were also discussed at the training session. As well as participiants discussed contribution of our country to solving ecological and economic problems concerning drying up of the Aral Sea.
The students discussed the questions on the issue of the class and they received comprehensive answers to their questions on the sustainable use of water and the cooperation of Turkmenistan in the world.
Such sessions are aimed to improve the outlook of students for the Sustainable Development Goals, and to nurture them environmentally bond personalities who are aware of global development issues.
