INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE “THE SCIENCE OF PEACE EDUCATION”
On 10 November 2025, the Global Peace Education Network (GPEN) organized an international conference titled “The Science of Peace Education”, with the participation of high-ranking diplomats, international policymakers, heads of educational institutions, representatives of youth organizations, as well as cultural and artistic figures from around the world.
The conference served as a broad platform for discussing the meaning and essence of peace in the rapidly developing and globalizing modern world, the role of peace in the national strategies of developing states, and the scientific and pedagogical foundations of promoting a culture of peaceful coexistence, which has become a key direction in development, science, diplomacy and social relations.
During the conference, which featured five thematic sections: “Taking Peace to Heart,” “Going Far Together,” “Securing Life,” “Arcing Toward Justice,” and “Youth Leadership & Celebrating Peace”, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres and international experts emphasized the importance of strengthening peace.
Participants, including scholars, professors, diplomats, leaders of international organizations and young leaders from various countries, shared their research-based experiences on advancing peace through education. They also presented proposals for the joint implementation of new projects aimed at enhancing international cooperation and highlighted the importance of building the foundations of a culture of peace in the minds of youth and society.
At the conclusion of the conference, musical and artistic performances showcased how cultural diplomacy unites people, provides spiritual support and strengthens mutual trust among nations.
