A SEMINAR ON PREVENTIVE DIPLOMACY TOOK PLACE
On October 1, 2025, a seminar was held at the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia on the topic “The Role of Diplomacy in Tackling Climate Change – a UK Perspective”. The seminar was conducted under the leadership of Ms. Clare Allbless, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Ashgabat.
During the event, Clare Allbless delivered presentations on global climate processes, negotiations within the framework of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), and the climate priorities of the UK Government.
Special attention was given to the importance of youth participation in addressing climate challenges and to the role of diplomacy in strengthening international cooperation in this field.
Following the presentations, an interactive discussion and a Q&A session took place, during which students of the Training Center for Priority Areas of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, along with students from other universities of the country, had the opportunity to exchange views and ask their questions.
