TRAINING FOR YOUNG DIPLOMATS FROM CENTRAL ASIA
From May 12 to 16, 2025, a five-day training for young diplomats of Central Asia is held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The training is organized with the support of the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator (UNRC) and the United Nations Country Team in Turkmenistan, with the participation of the UNRC for Central Asia, as well as the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) and the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA).
Young English-speaking diplomats from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan are participating in the training. The main goal of the training is to strengthen the capacity of young diplomats from the five Central Asian countries. They will learn in practice and interactively about the United Nations and the main approaches used by the UN in analyzing, presenting, and sharing information. The training will include a series of presentations, simulated practical exercises, videos, and extensive discussions.
The idea of the training is to utilize the rich experience and knowledge of a strong team of trainers, including experts arriving from the UN Headquarters, Resident Coordinators of the five Central Asian countries, as well as specialists from the UN Country Team (UNCT) and UNRCCA in Ashgabat. Young professionals will also have the opportunity to improve diplomatic skills and techniques through practical exercises and simulations, become familiar with UN methodologies and analytical tools, understand the UN language and terminology, and strengthen regional cooperation and connections among young diplomats from Central Asia.
