The Second Youth Dialogue of Central Asian Countries
On April 16, 2025, the second Youth Dialogue of Central Asian Countries is being held at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York. Initiated by Turkmenistan, this dialogue, which first commenced in October 2023 in the city of Arkadag, has become a widely recognized international event aimed at strengthening peace, trust, and cooperation among the youth of the region. The meeting is held within the framework of the high-level segment of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum. This year’s event is organized under the motto “Voices of Youth for Peace and Trust,” in connection with the UN General Assembly's declaration of 2025 as the “International Year of Peace and Trust,” and the 10th anniversary of the UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on “Youth, Peace, and Security.” During the forum, participants will present their current youth initiatives and exchange views on promoting a culture of peace, strengthening trust, developing sustainable education systems, and enhancing social entrepreneurship and innovations. Representatives from Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as well as active students from leading universities, also delegations from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, along with representatives of relevant UN agencies, international partners, and youth organizations are expected to attend. The meeting will also discuss preparations for the upcoming youth forum planned to be held in August 2025, as part of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which will take place in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone of Turkmenistan. The outcomes of the forum are expected to include expanding the youth cooperation network, launching new joint initiatives, institutional strengthening of the Dialogue of Central Asian Youth, and the proposal to hold these meetings on a rotational basis in the countries of the region. In accordance with the principles of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality, our country continues to promote initiatives aimed at strengthening the role of youth in advancing peace, trust, and cooperation in the international arena. The forum held at the UN Headquarters serves as yet another affirmation of the effective implementation of Turkmenistan’s creative international initiatives.
