MOTHER EARTH – OUR COMMON HOME AND HOLY SHRINE
Every year, on April 22, the world community solemnly celebrates International Mother Earth Day, one of the largest ecological milestones. This date calls for humanity to focus on protecting nature, ensuring ecological stability, and approaching our planet — our common home — with love.
Established by the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, this international day reminds us of the necessity to restore harmony between humanity and nature. The term “Mother Earth” itself is a symbol of respect and reverence for this sanctity, representing the inseparable bond we all share with nature.
Today, global issues such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, and environmental pollution require responsibility from every human being. International Mother Earth Day is not just a celebration; it is a call to action for the efficient use of natural resources, the restoration of ecosystems, and the implementation of environmentally friendly technologies.
In Turkmenistan, environmental protection and a careful approach to nature are among the primary directions of state policy. Under the leadership of our Esteemed President, extensive forest zones are being created across the country, and the most modern methods for the efficient use of water resources are being implemented. Millions of saplings planted annually in every corner of our nation contribute greatly to the expansion of the “Green Belt” and to ecological well-being.
Every single tree we plant, every drop of water we save, or any small help we provide to nature is a great step taken for the future of our common home. Loving nature and preserving it is not only a duty but also our sacred responsibility toward future generations.
May our Mother Earth always be covered in greenery and blossoms, and may boundless love and respect for nature forever reside in the hearts of all people!
