On June 17–18, 2026, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Country Office in Turkmenistan hosted a presentation event for a special curriculum titled “Climate Change Adaptation” for higher and secondary vocational education institutions. The event took place at the United Nations building in Ashgabat. Representatives from the National Institute of Education of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, as well as faculty from the country’s universities and colleges attended it.
The primary objective of the event was to thoroughly introduce the “Climate Change Adaptation” special program, which was jointly developed by the UNICEF Country Office in Turkmenistan and the National Institute of Education of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan specifically for higher and secondary vocational schools. The program provides a comprehensive framework detailing: its main goals and objectives, strategic action plans, climate change issues and the sustainability of living conditions in Turkmenistan, modern teaching methodologies designed to effectively deliver this curriculum.
To reinforce the information presented during the sessions, participants engaged in practical, hands-on group exercises.
