THE INDEPENDENCE DAY OF TURKMENISTAN WAS WIDELY CELEBRATED IN IRAN
On September 27, 2025, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Iran organized a flag-raising ceremony of Turkmenistan on Azadi Square in Tehran on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan. During the event, the National Anthem of Turkmenistan was performed, along with the song of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag: “Forward, forward, only forward, my Homeland Turkmenistan.”
The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Municipality of Tehran, local administrative bodies, as well as tourists visiting the square.
Furthermore, on September 30, 2025, at the ECO Cultural Institute, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Iran held a conference dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan entitled: “The Policy of Peace and Trust – the Foundation of International Security, Stability, and Development.”
The conference was attended by the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization and his deputies, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, ambassadors of foreign countries accredited in Iran, as well as distinguished guests.
During the event, speeches were delivered by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Secretary General of the ECO, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran – Head of the Eurasia Department, a deputy of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran – Head of the Turkmen-Iran Friendship Group, as well as literary figures.
The speakers extended their congratulations on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence, and highlighted the achievements of the country during the years of independence, the growth of its economic potential, and its political stability. Special emphasis was also placed on the importance of the recent session of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, held on September 19 of this year under the leadership of the National Leader.
In addition, for the guests, cultural performances featuring Turkmen national music and art were presented during the conference. As part of the event, an exhibition was organized showcasing Turkmen culture, national heritage, and fine arts, along with a presentation of Turkmen national cuisine.
Active participation in the events was ensured by the dedicated staff of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Iran, together with 5th-year students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan – Arslan Syyahatow and Kerim Baymyradov.
