Meeting between Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Deputy Cultural Affairs Officer of the Free Zones Secretariat
On November 3, 2025, a meeting took place between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran, Y. Gayypov, and the Deputy for Culture, Social Affairs, and Tourism of the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones of the Islamic Republic of Iran, M.Mazinani.
The meeting was held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere. During the meeting, the Ambassador emphasized that the cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the long-standing principles of good neighborliness, brotherhood, and mutual respect, is developing at a high level. He noted that the effective partnership in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres serves the interests of both nations.
The Iranian side put forward several new proposals for further enhancing bilateral relations. In particular, the sides exchanged views on facilitating travel for Turkmen citizens to Iran and for Iranian citizens to Turkmenistan in order to strengthen tourism cooperation between the two countries. The importance of Turkmen media representatives visiting Iran’s tourist attractions and promoting information about these destinations to foster cultural and tourism ties between the two nations was also highlighted.
In addition, the Iranian side announced proposals to organize a car rally caravan along the Great Silk Road route passing through Turkmenistan in 2026, and both parties discussed the possibilities related to this initiative.
The participants noted that this meeting created great opportunities to further strengthen the traditional friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as to open up new avenues for cooperation between the two countries.
