STUDENTS OF THE NATIONAL SCHOOL OF TURKMEN DIPLOMACY PARTICIPATED IN THE QUALIFYING ROUNDS OF THE «FRANCOPHONIE – 2026» COMPETITION
As part of the activities of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan aimed at the in-depth study of foreign languages and the promotion of cultural diplomacy, students of the Institute actively participated in the qualifying rounds of the «Francophonie – 2026» competitions. The event was organized by the French Institute at the Embassy of France in Turkmenistan under the general motto «En mouvement» («In motion»). This event, aimed at strengthening international humanitarian cooperation and identifying young talents, covered several creative and intellectual areas. It is important to note that the French language is one of the core languages of diplomacy and has been systematically taught at our Institute since its establishment in 2008.
During the qualifying rounds, our students demonstrated a high level of language proficiency and artistic ability. The main achievements of the competitions are as follows:
Oral Spelling (Orthographe à l’oral): On March 12, 2026, the qualifying round of this category was held at our Institute. The competition was moderated and judged by distinguished guests: Vincent Lorenzini, Director of the French Institute, and Mona Lerondel, Cultural Attaché. Third-year students Nurbibi Guljanova and Sumaya Nuriyeva qualified to represent the Institute in the final stage after competing against students from Magtymguly Turkmen State University and the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. The upcoming final will follow a single-elimination format.
Vocal Competition (Concours de chanson): Performing masterpieces of French musical classics centered on the theme «En mouvement», third-year students Sona Abayeva (Faculty of International Journalism) and Mahri Guzychiyeva (Faculty of International Economic Relations) represented the Institute with distinction.
Essay Competition (Concours d’écriture): Participants presented creative works, demonstrating sharp analytical skills and the ability to express ideas freely in French.
Students who successfully passed the qualifying stage will take part in the final round and the award ceremony, which will be held on April 4, 2026.
The achievements of our students are a vivid testament to the broad opportunities provided in our country for the intellectual and creative development of the youth.
At the end of the competition, participants expressed their sincere gratitude to our Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for creating the favorable conditions for the comprehensive development of Turkmen diplomacy and the realization of the scientific and educational potential of the youth.
We congratulate our students and wish them bright victories in the final stage of the competition!
