Online conference
On November 16, 2021, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law organized a conference in our country under the title “The 1958 Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards and the 1980 United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods”.
Representatives of the ministries, departments and law enforcement agencies, social organizations of Turkmenistan, as well as professors and students of higher education institutions of the country, including the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan attended the event.
The working languages of the conference were English and Russian. Speakers of the conference spoke about opportunities to accede to the Conventions, ways to increase the awareness of national experts and students, areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and international trade organizations, as well as the UN Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). During the conference, interesting information on arbitration and trade law was presented for students and specialists.
According to the participants of the event, the regular holding of such conferences has a positive impact on improving the education of young lawyers in our country, developing their professional skills and further strengthening the legal framework of the country.
