MODEL UNESCO − 2025
On October 17, 2025, on the occasion of the International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage, the “MODEL UNESCO – 2025” simulation was successfully held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan which was organized by the UNESCO club “Culture of Peace.” The main objective of the “Model UNESCO – 2025” is to familiarize students with the structure and working methods of UNESCO’s international meetings, to enhance their diplomatic and debating skills, and to encourage the creative promotion of cultural heritage through simulation of real international decision-making processes.
The event brought together student members of UNESCO Chairs and Clubs from various higher educational institutions across the country.
The simulation was conducted in three stages. In the first stage, participants represented a country and presented one intangible cultural value of their nation to be nominated for inclusion in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In the second stage, based on the votes cast by the representatives, the Resolution with the highest number of votes was adopted. In the third stage, jury members evaluated the performances and selected outstanding participants in the categories of “Best Presentation”, “Best Delegate” and “Best Speaker”.
Then, the winners and participants were awarded with Certificates of Honor and commemorative gifts. At the end of the event, the participant expressed their sincere gratitude to our honorable President for his initiatives and tireless efforts to promote peace, security and stability, as well as the flourishing development of the peoples of the world.
