A Regional Educational Conference for Young Diplomats and State Servants of Central Asia was held
On May 12, 2025, a Regional Educational Conference was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, jointly organized by the Office of the Permanent Coordinator of the United Nations in Turkmenistan, aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and improving professional skills among young specialists from Central Asian countries. The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations located in Turkmenistan, young diplomats and state servants from Central Asian countries, professors and teachers of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and as well as the representatives from other higher educational institutions attended the conference.
The conference was held on the basis of the principles emanating from the Concept on the implementation of the Resolution on declaring “Year 2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust”. During the seminar, speeches were made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R. Meredov, the Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Turkmenistan D.Shlapachenko, Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Representative of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia K. Imnadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to Turkmenistan L. Ferrari, and UNFPA Representative in Turkmenistan K. Goshliyev.
As noted in the speeches of the participants of the conference, Turkmenistan, which successfully implements a foreign policy based on the principles of positive Neutrality, makes a significant contribution to strengthening effective international cooperation in the interests of universal well-being and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. It was noted that the development of Turkmenistan's Neutrality over the past period has proven to be consistent with the basic values and goals of the United Nations and has been recognized as a common achievement of the United Nations.
In addition, the UN agencies propose to develop a joint program project entitled "Youth, Peace and Security" for 2025-2027 years, aimed at supporting the development of youth, improving their skills, and expanding their representation in international and regional events. As noted, a relevant UN regional project document focused on youth is being implemented in Turkmenistan.
At the end of the conference, the participants expressed their deep gratitude to the National Leader of Turkmen people our Hero Arkadag, our esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar, for creating all the opportunities for well-being of the Turkmen nation.
