Bilateral cooperation is successfully developing in various areas, including trade-economic, fuel-energy, transport-communication, science-education, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Turkmen-Chinese friendly relations trace their origins back centuries. The Great Silk Road, which connected the two nations in ancient times, today helps strengthen cooperation between our countries in a modern format. It was particularly emphasized that the business trip of Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the People's Republic of China this year to participate in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit and the celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Second World War, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Lanzhou University within the framework of this visit, contribute significantly to strengthening relations between the two states in the cultural-humanitarian sphere.
