BRIEFING DEDICATED TO THE YEAR OF INTERNATIONAL LAW
On April 21, 2026, Magtymguly Turkmen State University hosted a briefing titled “Youth Dialogue Platform: Issues of Developing Legal Culture Among Youth”. This event was organized to implement the objectives outlined in the “Strategy for the Development of the Higher Vocational Education System of Turkmenistan for 2026–2052”. It was conducted in accordance with the “Action Plan for 2028” and the “Roadmap” for the high-level implementation of educational initiatives within the framework of the “Youth for Strengthening International Law” dialogue platform. Legal scholars, instructors and students specializing in jurisprudence from various higher educational institutions attended the session.
The following speakers addressed the participants and shared their expertise: Merjen Gurbannazarova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Law and Comparative Law of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Begmuhammet Orazov, a 3rd-year student at the Faculty of International Law of the same institute.
During the briefing, the speakers provided detailed insights into the international community’s systematic efforts to develop and popularize international law. They highlighted proactive role of Turkmenistan as a sovereign subject of international law in global processes and underscored the strategic significance of the initiative to declare 2028 as the “Year of International Law”. By engaging with these topics, the event significantly fosters the legal consciousness of the younger generation and strengthens the role of youth in maintaining global law and order.
