II INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION ENTITLED “INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS: CULTURE OF PEACEFUL DIALOGUE” HAS COMMENCED
On May 12, 2025, the official opening ceremony of II International Competition entitled “International Relations: Culture of Peaceful Dialogue” was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The event was organized the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The competition gathered 29 master’s students and university students from 9 prestigious universities of 7 foreign countries, along with 115 young students from 23 higher education institutions in Turkmenistan.
Specifically, participants came from: Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University (the Russian Federation), Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P. Korolev (the Russian Federation), the Caspian University of Technology and Engineering named after Sh.Yessenov (the Republic of Kazakhstan), the Law Academy of General Prosecutor’s Office (the Kyrgyz Republic), Tajik National University (the Republic of Tajikistan), China Foreign Affairs University (the People’s Republic of China), the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (the Republic of Uzbekistan), University of Texas at El Paso (USA), along with prestigious universities from Turkmenistan.
II International Competition entitled “International Relations: Culture of Peaceful Dialogue” aligns with objectives outlined in national policy Resolutions approved by the President of Turkmenistan. These include the “Concept for the Development of the Digital Education System in Turkmenistan”, “State Program for the Development of Natural and Exact Sciences in Turkmenistan”, and “Strategy for the Development of the Science System in Turkmenistan for 2024–2052.” The competition aims to fulfill national goals by identifying and supporting young talents, promoting cultural cooperation among youth, establishing close cooperation with international specialists, and enhancing international youth collaboration.
Ahead of the opening ceremony of the international competition, the organization of an exhibition dedicated to Turkmen national values and decorative-applied arts provided participants with a valuable opportunity to become acquainted with Turkmenistan’s ancient and rich cultural heritage. During the opening ceremony, speeches were delivered by: the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Gulshat Geldiyevna Yusupova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, and Master diplomat Sapar Komekowich Berdinyyazov, Associate Professor of Patrice Lumumba Peoples’ Friendship University, Uliana Viktorovna Mizerovskaya, Candidate of Economic Sciences.
Speakers emphasized the significance of this competition within the framework of the UN General Assembly’s 78th session adopting Turkmenistan’s initiative to declare 2025 as the “Year of International Peace and Trust.” They highlighted the values of peace, trust, and dialogue among the peoples of the world. Gratitude was expressed to the National Leader of Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag, and the Arkadagly Hero Serdar for their support in promoting peace, active international dialogue, cultural diplomacy, and youth collaboration.
At the end of the opening ceremony, the student’s Performance Group of the Institute performed the literary-musical composition «Bagt binýadym ˗ Bitaraplyk / Neutrality – Foundation of my Happiness» which was warmly received by the audience. Following the ceremony, participants began to perform the tasks of the test of the competition in accordance with the official rules. II International Competition continues until May 14.
