SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE DEVOTED TO THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NEUTRALITY
On December 8, 2025, a scientific and practical conference was held at the Institute of international Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, dedicated to the International Day of Neutrality. The conference entitled «The 30th years of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality: Historical Experience of International Cooperation,» brought together faculty members, researchers, students, schoolchildren, and active participants of the School of Young Diplomats.
During the plenary session, speakers delivered in-depth presentations examining the ways in which Independent and Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan, guided by the principles of positive neutrality, continues to attach profound importance to cultivating friendly, constructive, and mutually respectful relations with the international community, including prominent international and regional organizations. Academic participants comprising scholars, professors, and senior lecturers also emphasized the distinctive significance of the concurrence of two major milestones: the 30th anniversary of the United Nations’ recognition of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations. This confluence of dates acquires additional relevance within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Following the plenary discussions, the conference proceeded in four specialized thematic sessions: «The Year of International Peace and Trust: Advancing Humanism, Solidarity, and Friendly Relations Worldwide», «The Historical and Legal Foundations of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality», «The Role of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality Policy in Advancing Interregional Economic Cooperation», «Turkmenistan’s Neutrality as a Model of Peace, Trust, and Security».
The conference concluded its work successfully, reaffirming the enduring relevance of Turkmenistan’s neutrality doctrine as a foundation for international cooperation and sustainable peace. Participants expressed deep appreciation to Hero Arkadag and esteemed President, Hero Arkadagly Serdar, for their steadfast efforts aimed at safeguarding the well-being of the Turkmen people and enhancing the international prestige and diplomatic standing of Turkmenistan.
