A BRIEFING TITLED “GENDER EQUALITY - A GUARANTEE OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” WAS HELD
On June 28, 2025, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a briefing on the theme “Gender Equality – A Guarantee of Sustainable Development” which was organized by UNESCO Club “Culture of peace” of the institute. The briefing was attended by teachers and students of the institute.
The event was led by Aygozel Ovezova, Head of the UNESCO club “Culture of Peace” and representatives of UNESCO clubs, operating at a number of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan, delivered speeches, including Ogulsabyr Berdiyeva, Head of the UNESCO club “Languages of the World” of Dovletmammed Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, Merjen Berdiyeva, Head of the UNESCO club “Our Medicinal Plants, Health, Heritage” of Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan and Chemen Vekilova, Head of the UNESCO club “Peace and Trust - the Basis of Humanism and Development” of the International University for the Humanities and Development. Speakers shared insights into current UNESCO projects promoting gender equality, highlighting the important role of youth in achieving this goal. Particular attention was paid to the capacity-building workshop for youth on gender equality, which took place on June 27, 2025 at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris (France). The event was in cooperation with the National Commission of France and the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations. The event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the European and North American Federation of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO.
The briefing concluded with an engaging exchange of questions and answers on key issues, further enriching the learning experience and reinforcing the significance of the topic.
