MASS CYCLING RIDE DEDICATED TO THE WORLD BICYCLE DAY ON JUNE 3
On June 3, 2026, on the occasion of World Bicycle Day, a wide range of diverse festive celebrations and mass cycling events are being widely organized across our sovereign country. One such solemn event was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, bringing together the faculty, professors, student-athletes and youth.
As it is well known, at the present period, cycling is one of the most popular sports that contributes to the ecological well-being of society and the promotion of human health. In this regard, it is necessary to highlight the paramount significance of the adoption of the Resolution by the United Nations General Assembly declaring June 3 as “World Bicycle Day” during the 82nd plenary meeting of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly on April 12, 2018, which was unanimously adopted at the initiative of our Hero Arkadag.
During the festive events organized at the National School of Turkmen Diplomacy, various sports competitions and student mass bicycle races were arranged. Musical performances brought a unique enthusiasm to the sports celebration, serving as a clear reflection of the remarkable achievements made in our glorious year in the fields of sports and health. This stands as another vivid demonstration that the noble principles of developing cycling, advancing sports diplomacy and encouraging the younger generation to engage in mass physical culture and sports movement are being worthily sustained in our new historical era.
Such celebrations play an essential role in inspiring youth to secure the principles of a healthy lifestyle, fostering a love for sports and increasing their pride in the peace-loving foreign policy of our state. The participants of the event expressed their sincere gratitude to our Hero Arkadag and to the Head of State for their tireless care and comprehensive support in popularizing physical culture and advancing sports diplomacy.
