“Let's Read Together!”
REGULATIONS
of the competition “Let's Read Together!” dedicated to UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day, held in the year “Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses”
In the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, under the leadership of our Esteemed President, the competition “Let’s Read Together!” is held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The competition, dedicated to UNESCO World Book and Copyright Day, aims to implement the tasks arising from the “Strategy for the Development of Higher Professional Education in Turkmenistan for 2026–2052 and the “Plan of Measures for its Implementation for 2026–2030”, while further developing science, education, and the literary interests of students and master's students in the year “Independent, Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses”. The event is organized by the UNESCO Club “Culture of Peace” of the Institute, together with the Berkararlyk etrap Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan.
1. General Provisions
This Regulation defines the procedure for organizing and conducting the competition “Let's Read Together!” among students and master's students of higher educational institutions.
The objectives of the competition are:
1. To educate young people in the spirit of patriotism and encourage them to read books and acquire knowledge;
2. To reveal the knowledge, talents, and abilities of student youth and broaden their outlook;
3. To improve the public speaking skills of young people;
4. To develop cooperation between higher educational institutions in the field of education.
2. Procedure for Conducting the Competition:
2.1. The organizers of the competition are the UNESCO Club “Culture of Peace” of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan;
2.2. The competition is held on April 23, 2026 at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan;
2.3. The competition is conducted in English;
2.4. Three (3) participants (students/master's students) from each higher educational institution may take part in the competition;
2.5. To participate, each student/master's student shall submit a speech text based on a selected work of world literature;
2.6. During the competition, each participant shall prepare a presentation (no more than 15 slides) about one selected work of world literature and deliver a presentation. Each participant is given 5 minutes to present.
3. Procedure for Determining and Awarding the Winners
3.1. An independent Jury Panel determines the winners of the competition.
3.2. Each participant's presentation is evaluated according to the following criteria:
Content of the presentation – up to 5 points
Speaking skills – up to 5 points
Grammatical accuracy of speech – up to 5 points
Presentation delivery skills – up to 5 points
Total: up to 20 points.
3.3. Winners are announced in the categories:
Grand Prize, 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place.
3.4. Winners are awarded with Honorary Diplomas and prizes.
