STUDENTS’ CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO LINGUISTIC AND CULTURAL VALUES
On November 7, 2024, Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages hosted the students’ conference entitled «Language is the Key to Wisdom». Students from higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan gathered for this conference, focused on the importance of linguistics and cultural values, as well as multilingualism.
The main purpose of the conference was to emphasize the significance of language learning in international relations, science, and diplomacy as well as to enhance the students’ foreign language learning skills and increase their motivation to learning foreign languages.
The conference continued with thematic sessions such as «The Importance of Learning Languages», «World Languages – A Bridge of Friendship», and «Language as an Inspiring Force for Human Development». During these sessions, students presented their research in multiple languages, focusing on the importance and unique aspects of learning English and discussing various approaches to studying foreign languages. The conference underscored the need to promote language education and to strengthen intercultural relations to advance science and education in the country.
Throughout the conference, the participating students underscored the importance of language learning for the development of scientific, diplomatic, and intercultural relations. The study of various languages has a significant impact not only in science and diplomacy, but also in economics and social life.
In the closing discussions, students, professors and instructors agreed that enhancing the multilingual abilities of the younger generation would contribute to raising the international prestige of the country.
Students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan who actively participated in this scientific and practical conference were awarded Certificates of Honour by the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages.
