SPECIFICITY OF AKHALTEKE HORSE-BREEDING
The Akhalteke horse with its millennia long history, exclusive merits, speed and unique beauty is by right considered a priceless treasure of not only Turkmenistan, but also the entire civilization. The books of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov dedicated to the history of origin and development of this ancient breed tell about the role of the racers in the life and fate of Turkmen people.
This breed formed on the Turkmen land during the centuries owing to the folk selection. Grand work is carried out in Turkmenistan on further increase of world fame of the Akhalteke horses, a model of beauty and grace. The necessary conditions are created in Turkmenistan for practicing various kinds of equestrian sport, hosting the competitions of world standards, as well as keeping the stallions in accordance with the high modern requirements.
Currently, the work continues on the preparation of the nomination of the Akhalteke horse-breeding art to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
