The 30th anniversary of the establishment of Turkmen-Kazakh diplomatic relations
The effective character of the foreign policy and its main principles implemented under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, is reflected in practice and concrete steps. Neutrality, peace-loving, good-neighborly, mutually advantageous and mutually respectful cooperation, unwavering adherence to the generally recognized norms of international law are the main contents of our state’s foreign policy.
During the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state, Turkmenistan, under the leadership of the esteemed President, took a secure place in the political and economic space of the world community with the effectiveness and activity of purposeful bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The effective development of bilateral relations based on the principles of friendly and mutually advantageous cooperation with neighboring countries is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy under the leadership of the National Leader.
In this regard, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of wide-scale cooperation with neighboring Kazakhstan. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on October 5, 1992. With the will of the two leaders, these relations are gaining importance today. Activation of the positive political dialogue at the bilateral level has resulted in the qualitative improvement of Turkmen-Kazakh relations.
Recently, Turkmen-Kazakh relations have been characterized by an active character, a clear example of which was political consultations between the foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan on October 4, 2022, via video communication system.
The Turkmen side was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan V. Hajiyev, and the Kazakh side by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ye. Konuspayev.
During the consultations, opinions were exchanged on the bilateral agenda, and the level of political-diplomatic relations between the two countries and the implementation of previously reached agreements were considered. Emphasizing the key role of high-level visits in strengthening bilateral cooperation, the parties discussed the issues related to the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Furthermore, during the conference, significance of an important date, October 5, 2022, the the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan was emphasized.
Special attention was paid to the high level of cooperation within international organizations.
The diplomats noted the mutual readiness of the parties to develop regional cooperation. In this regard, the importance of the 4th Consultative Meeting of Heads of Central Asian States held in Cholpan-Ata and the 6th Summit of Heads of Caspian States held in Ashgabat was emphasized.
Moreover, the current state and future possibilities of cooperation in the trade and economic sector, which has significant potential for the implementation of joint activities, were considered.
In addition, the parties discussed the prospects of cooperation in the cultural-humanitarian sphere. Interest was expressed in the development of relations in the fields of science, education, health care.
