Eco festival dedicated to save nature
On May 5, 2023, an eco-festival "Let's protect our beautiful nature together" was held in the Ashgabat Park of Culture and Recreation of the Ashgabat city. The eco-festival was organized jointly by the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, the hyakimlik of Ashgabat and the Public Organization “Ýaş tebigatçy". The cultural event aimed at protecting the environment was attended by young organizers, environmentalists, residents of the city, as well as students of higher educational institutions.
As part of the eco-festival, various environmental performances, educational classes on plastic waste recycling, eco games, eco fashion show and other instructive environmental games were organized. Chinar Rustemova, thd Secretar of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, Hero of Turkmenistan, in her speech noted that not only ministries and departments are actively involved in the formation of the Turkmen environmental agenda today, but also all civil society — public associations, representatives of science and education, the media, concerned citizens and, of course, the youth of Turkmenistan. Therefore, this event, organized as part of a large-scale effort to preserve the environment in the country, plays an important role in educating young people about environmental responsibility.
