An Admiring Excursion
On February 26, 2025, the First Women Organization of the Institute of
International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan
organized the trip to the National Museum of Turkmen carpets.
During the visit, the students acquired much about the Turkmen carpet
weaving art. That is origin of carpet patterns, the benefits of carpets for human
health, the role of women in developing of carpet weaving skills, and significance
of this art in enhancing the skillfulness of the Turkmen women. The museum guide
emphasized that the museum has become an interesting place for tourists from all
over the world, as well as the collection of fine carpet articles which absorbed the
national spirit of the Turkmen people.
Carpets, having been an integral part of the Turkmen lifestyle represent a
wonderful example of the ancient Turkmen art, which has made a huge
contribution to the cultural value of humanity. The inclusion of Turkmen national
carpet waving art in the List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity into
UNESCO is a clear evidence of this.
Organizing of such tours has a great impact on enhancing the outlook of
students, who are the future representatives of the Turkmen diplomacy.
