An excited excursion
On November 1st, there was the excursion in the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets with the members of the Women’s Organization of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, and Yagshigeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas and also students of secondary schools in Ashgabat city. During the tour, students were told about the history of carpet pattern, the benefits of carpets for human health, the role of women in the art of carpet weaving, the positive aspects of labor education in the formation of traits such as patience in Turkmen girls, and the role of women in society and gender equality in society. During the excursion there was also mentioned that this art, known as Turkmen carpets all over the world, which was created by a Turkmen women, who brought together such qualities as Turkmen women`s masterpiece, and the warmth of motherly affection. At the end of the tour, the participants praised the Turkmen women for their work and also congratulatory were made of our esteemed President.
А carpet is national value of Turkmen people. The Turkmen carpets, whose prevailing color is dark red, are woven from wool, cotton and silk at home. The legend says that the (covenants) left by Oguz Khan to his sons are incorporated in the ghels (pattern) of a Turkmen carpet. In Turkmenistan where each tribe had its peculiar ornament, the carpet is so sacred, that even the national flag has carpet ornaments on it. A real carpet a work of art in itself and is very valuable for Turkmen people.
