SEMINAR ON WATER DIPLOMACY WAS HELD
On March 28, 2025, a training session on "Water Diplomacy" was held at the
Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of
Turkmenistan. The event was organized by the Training Center for Priority Areas
of Diplomacy of Turkmenistan.
The seminar was dedicated to the interview given by the National Leader of the
Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly
Berdimuhamedov, to the Euronews television network. The interview highlighted
Turkmenistan’s stance on several key regional and global issues and outlined the
main directions of the country’s domestic and foreign policy, including water and
energy sectors, as well as global and regional cooperation, which are central to the
international agenda.
The seminar was conducted by the Advisor to the Department of International
Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan, Magtymguly Akmyradov.
During the seminar, Mr. Akmyradov provided a detailed overview of the interview
given by our Hero-Arkadag to the Euronews correspondent. He also discussed
Turkmenistan's proposal to establish a Regional Council on Water Use in Central
Asian countries to develop mechanisms for managing transboundary water
resources in the region. This initiative is expected to be a significant step in
strengthening good-neighborly relations, progress, and cooperation.
The seminar on water diplomacy proved to be highly beneficial for students, who
received answers to their questions of interest.
