TRAINING COURSE ON WATER DIPLOMACY WAS SUCCESFULLY HELD
On January 19, 2024, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was held a meeting with the organization of the Training Center in priority areas of diplomacy of Turkmenistan. The lecture was given by the Professor Italmaz Saparlyev, head of the Department of Hydraulic structures of the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov. The topic of the meeting was “The experience of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan on the use of water resources in Central Asia”. Turkmenistan promotes the development of positive cooperation on issues of rational use of water resources and transboundary waters, and promotes important initiatives in this area. In this regard, great attention is paid in compliance with the international law and full consideration of the interests of all states in the region. An Important step in this direction was our country’s accession in 2012 Convention on the Conservation and Use of Transboundary Watercourses and International Lakes of the UN Economic Commission for Europe.
The meeting was very effective for the students and they could receive answer for their questions.
