STUDENTS COMPETE IN MATHEMATICAL MODELING COMPETITION
On February 12, 2024, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan was held an Olympiad in Mathematical Modeling among students from higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan. The competition was based on as part of the implementation of the "Concept for the Development of the Digital Education System in Turkmenistan," "Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2019-2025," and "State Program on the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025" approved by the President of Turkmenistan during the Revival of the New Era of the Powerful State.
According to the regulations, the competition consisted of two stages. The first stage was in the form of a test that included 50 questions. In the second stage, participants were given 6 economic-mathematical problems and 4 hours to solve them. The jury of the competition were teachers from each participating university, as well as representatives of scientific institutions, enterprises, industries and subject matter experts. The jury determined the results of the competition based on the total points gained in the two rounds.
The purpose of conducting the Olympiad was to strengthen the understanding of the importance and necessity of studying mathematical modeling, economic-mathematical methods and models in the youth environment in the modern conditions of the national economy development and its digital transformation. The competition aims to identify and reward talented and gifted students, stimulate their scientific activities, deepen their knowledge of the subject, and contribute to the training of highly qualified, well-rounded specialists.
Moreover, the competition's goals were improving training, scientific and educational activities focused on the development of digital economy in the country, introduction of innovations, advanced technologies and production management methods, as well as strengthening effective cooperation between the country's universities in the relevant areas.
In addition, tour to the Institute was organized for the teachers supervising the students that included the libraries, study studio and editorial offices of the Institute.
According to the results of this competition the students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Great Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, the Institute of Engineering-Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen agricultural institute, the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan won the 1st places. Students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Affairs of Turkmenistan, Great Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan, the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction, Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the Turkmen agricultural institute, the Turkmen State Institute of Finance took 2nd places, Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the Institute of Engineering-Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen agricultural institute, The Turkmen State Institute of Finance, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan, Border Guard Institute of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, Yagshygeldi Kakayev International oil and gas university took the 3rd places and declared as the winners of the competition.
At the end of the highly organized competition the participants expressed their gratitude to our Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar for creating all the conditions to the young generation.
