A MUSIC COMPETITION IN ENGLISH «LET'S SING A SONG»
On April 24, 2024, the Department of World Languages of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized a music competition «Let's sing a song» which was held among first-year students of all faculties of the institute as part of the English language week. The competition was held in English, and one team from each faculty took part in it.
The purpose of the competition is to implement the objectives of the Concept for Improving the Teaching of Foreign Languages in Turkmenistan, raising the level and improving the language knowledge and skills of students. According to the rules of the competition the teams introduced themselves through the singing a song, in the second rule, the teams sang a song in Turkmen and English, and the last rule, «Guess the song» the students guessed the name of the song and the artist. The performance of songs by students became a manifestation of the creative abilities of young people. The first-year student of the Faculty of International Economic Relations M.Guzychyeva, the first-year student of the Faculty of International Journalism S.Abayeva and the second-year student of the same faculty B. Begnazarov distinguished themselves in the song competition. As a result, all teams achieved equal results. The competition participants expressed their gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the created conditions for taking education in accordance with world standards.
