A TRAINING SESSION WITH AN ITALIAN REPRESENTATIVE
On June 11, 2026, a training session was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the participation of Domenico Palmieri, Secretary General of the Italian Institute for Asia (ISIA). Professors, faculty members and students of the Institute attended the event.
In his speech, Domenico Palmieri emphasized that Turkmen-Italian cooperation is actively developing not only in the economic and energy sectors, but also in the fields of science, education, culture and humanitarian spheres. The guest speaker detailed the core mission and activities of the Italian Institute for Asia (Istituto Italiano per l’Asia – ISIA). As a prestigious institution supported by government, ISIA plays a vital role in advancing political, economic, cultural and scientific relations between Italy and Asian nations, serving as an effective “bridge” between Europe and Asia. He also highlighted that the institute’s specialists conduct comprehensive scientific research and strategic analysis on the geopolitical landscape of the Asian region, as well as international relations development and security issues.
At the end of the session, the students asked the honored guest questions of interest to them. The guest highly appreciated the institute’s efforts in training future international specialists and wished the students success in their studies.
Following the main session, the guest was invited on an introductory tour of the Institute, including a visit to the Museum of the History of Turkmen Diplomacy. The visit left a highly positive impression on the honored guest. This event was an important step forward in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries and exchanging diplomatic experience.
