The World of the Chinese Language
On April 21, 2022, a cultural event was organized by the Lingvo World Club of the Department of World Languages of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. It was held on the occasion of the UN Chinese Language Day marked annually on April 20, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China as well as the National Holiday of Akhal-Teke Horses.
During the event, students conducted different activities, such as to make presentations on the Chinese language, history and culture, cooperation between China and Turkmenistan in different spheres, Akhal-Teke horses. The students also performed songs and dances, and cited poems about Akhal-Teke horses. The aim of the event held Chinese by the Department of World Languages was to promote multilingualism, cultural diversity and equal use of all six official languages of the United Nations as well as to develop language skills of students majoring in international studies.
