International Conference and Exhibition “International Transport Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024” Begins
On November 26, 2024, the international conference and exhibition titled “International Transport Corridors: Interconnection and Development – 2024” officially opened. The event, held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, brought together around 600 participants from over 40 countries. Attendants included representatives from state and private organizations, international bodies such as the UN, OSCE and World Bank, members of diplomatic missions in Turkmenistan and media professionals.
Deputy Chairmen of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as leaders and representatives of various ministries and agencies, actively participated in the forum. Discussions centered on enhancing the connectivity of transport systems, strengthening international cooperation, and devising sustainable and inclusive solutions for the transport sector. Key topics also included the implementation of “green” technologies, digital transformation, environmentally friendly logistics and public engagement in promoting sustainable transport practices.
The conference underscored the country’s pivotal role in global transit systems. Speakers highlighted how the country’s strategic location within the East-West and North-South transport corridors positions it as a leader in multimodal cargo transportation and innovation. The country’s efforts to advance international collaboration and elevate transport infrastructure to a new level are vital for unifying global initiatives in this sector.
This large-scale event serves as a platform for fostering partnerships and demonstrating development importance of Turkmenistan in international transit and logistics systems.
