COMPETITION “MULTILINGUALISM AS A KEY TO EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION” WAS HELD
On June 3, 2025, the competition “Multilingualism as a Key to Effective Communication” - a significant event, dedicated to the birthday of the great Russian poet Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin - June 6, was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, This event emphasizing the significance of studying languages, was organized by the Department of World Languages of the Institute.
This day - June 6, as a workframe of the United Nations to support and evolve multilingualism and cultural diversity, is celebrated as Russian Language Day.
The literary work of the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin is priceless. His valuable creation uniting people all over world, regardless age, religion and nationality are translated into the different foreign languages. In Turkmenistan, It is paid much attention to studying foreign languages, as well as Russian, being language of interethnic communicating in Turkmenistan.
There is a monument of Pushkin in Ashgabat, on the street named after him. It was erected in 1911 in one of the picturesque places of Ashgabat. The monument annually becomes the center of the ceremonial laying of flowers on the poet's birthday.
Students from all faculties of the Institute attended the competition and it was held in two stages: at the first stage, the students represented their skills at imagining in the game “Guess the Story”, at second stage they demonstrated their mental activity in the brain ring contest.
At the end of the competition, the winners recieved gifts, which became a symbol of the acknowledgement of their accomplishment and endevour to an extensive outlook.
The competition “Multilingualism as a Key to Effective Communication” displayed clearly the knowledge of languages, literature and poetry is tough bridge of friendship and comprehensive development.
