On March 30, 2026, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a demonstration class for students of the Faculty of International Law, organized by the Department of International and Comparative Law studies.
The demonstration class was dedicated to the anniversary of Turkmenistan's admission to the United Nations, the motto of the year “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful winged Horses”, and the initiative to proclaim 2028 as the “Year of International Law”. The session was conducted by Merjen Gurbannazarova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of International and Comparative Law studies.
During the lesson, Ms. Gurbannazarova highlighted the key priorities of Turkmenistan's domestic and foreign policy, the country's cooperation with the United Nations, and the consistent efforts of the global community toward the development and promotion of international law. She also emphasized Turkmenistan's active role in these processes as a subject of international law. Special attention was given to the significant initiative of the Honorable President, put forward in September 2025 during his speech at the 80th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly, regarding the proposal to declare 2028 as the “Year of International Law”.
The demonstration class proved to be highly impressive and informative for the students specializing in International Law. During the meeting, the future specialists received comprehensive answers to all their questions.
