A SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL SEMINAR HELD ON THE ECONOMIC SIGNIFICANCE OF THE REGULAR COUNCIL OF HEADS OF STATE OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF INDEPENDENT STATES
On October 9, 2026, the Faculty of International Economic Relations at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a scientific and practical seminar focusing on the economic significance of the regular Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, held during the high-level summits on October 7–9.
During the seminar, senior lecturer M.Mamedova delivered a detailed presentation on the initiatives put forward by the Head of State at the Consultative Meeting, highlighting key themes such as partnership, peace, and regional security.
In contemporary international economic relations, regional cooperation continues to expand with rich substantive dialogue. Within this framework, mutually beneficial collaboration across the Commonwealth of Independent States carries strategic importance. The decisions adopted and initiatives proposed during the regular Council of Heads of State provide substantial momentum toward ensuring regional economic stability, elevating trade and economic relations to a new stage, and achieving sustainable development.
As students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, we gained a clear understanding of how the decisions adopted by the Council and the initiatives put forward during the meeting play a vital role not only within the CIS, but also across broader regional and global economic cooperation. This scientific seminar provided us as future diplomatic professionals with deep insights into the practical dimensions of economic diplomacy and regional integration.
