A conference dedicated to the poem of our Hero-Arkadag
On August 28, at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of
Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a conference dedicated to the new
contribution of the poem by the National Leader of the Turkmen people,
Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly
Berdimuhamedov “Magtymguly Fragi's Fountain of Mind” was held. People’s
Artist of Turkmenistan, twice laureate of the Magtymguly International Prize,
honorary elder of the people, the country’s leading sculptor Saragt Babaev,
editor of the newspaper “Edebiýat we sungat” Meretgylych Yagmyrov, as well
as teachers and students of the Institute attended to the conference.
Speakers at the conference noted that the modern historical era in
Turkmenistan was marked by a number of important events in cultural life,
including the announcement of 2024 as the “The year of the great poet and
thinker of the Turkic world – Makhtumkuli Fragi”.
During the conference, the participants emphasized the role of the our
Hero-Arkadag in popularizing the work of the classic of Turkmen and world
literature Makhtumkuli Fragi in the country and the world.
