Briefing on the Results of the Visit of the National Leader, Hero Arkadag to the Republic of Austria
On April 12, 2026, a briefing was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The session was dedicated to the events organized during the visit of the Hero Arkadag to the Republic of Austria.
Speakers at the briefing included Enejan Atayeva, Deputy of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and member of the Committee on International and Interparliamentary Relations; Mayya Alimova, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan; Gurbanmyrat Muhammedov, Head of the Organizational Department of the Central Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan; Umyda Kakayeva, Head of the Organizational Department of the Arkadag City Council of the same organization; Perhat Charyyev, Senior Lecturer at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Rahym Saparmyradov, Lecturer at Magtymguly Turkmen State University. Professors, lecturers, and students from journalism-oriented higher education institutions of the country also participated online.
The speakers highlighted the significance of the Vienna International Energy and Climate Forum held during the visit, which addressed issues such as accelerating the energy transition, promoting green hydrogen, and digitalizing the energy sector. They emphasized the importance of the initiatives proposed by the Hero Arkadag, particularly his call to ensure free, stable, and equitable access to energy resources.
During the visit, the Hero Arkadag also met with representatives of the national mass media and held a discussion with them. In the ensuing conversation, the National Leader expressed Turkmenistan’s position on the tense situation in the Middle East, emphasizing the country’s active participation over the past three decades in multilateral efforts aimed at reducing military activity and eliminating the use of force as a tool of foreign policy.
The National Leader also expressed opposition to military strikes on the territory of neighboring Caspian states and drew attention to the recently proposed draft Joint Statement of the Caspian States. It was noted that this document reflects Turkmenistan’s fundamental views and its stance against the escalation of conflicts.
During the briefing, students addressed questions to the speakers regarding energy sustainability and environmental security at both regional and global events. At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their gratitude to the Hero Arkadag and the esteemed President, Arkadagly Hero Serdar, for promoting national diplomacy on the global stage.
