A Language Week entitled «Spring and Literature» was held
On March 14-20, 2025, the Department of World Languages and scientific club of the Department «Lingvo World» held a Language Week entitled «Le printemps et la littérature» («Spring and Literature») at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the French Republic, the 30th anniversary of the teaching of French in Turkmenistan, and the International Day of the French Language.
At the beginning of the week, the Embassy of the French Republic in Turkmenistan and French Institute under the Embassy (Institut français du Turkménistan) held qualifying rounds of spelling, essay writing, singing competitions which are being held annually within the framework of the «Francophonie» competitions among the students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan where the French language is taught.
During the week, a wall newspaper competition entitled «Le printemps et la littérature» («Spring and Literature»), a recitation competition (Magtymguly Fragi’s poems translated into French; poems about peace, friendship and brotherhood; spring and literature), and singing competition were organized.
On March 18, 2025, students of our Institute took the first place in the Intellectual Competition «Le pays de la langue étudiée» («The Country of the Language I study») held among the students of higher educational institutions of Turkmenistan, where the French language is taught. The winners of all competitions were announced by the jury and awarded Certificates and souvenirs.
During the Language Week, the Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan, holder of a badge of distinction “Türkmenistanyň ussat diplomaty” Chary Niyazov made a special course in French language for the students.
In the year 2025, «International Year of Peace and Trust», conducting the Language Week, which is aimed at establishing and strengthening mutually beneficial relations between higher educational institutions of the country, identifying talented student youth, directing students to scientific and research work, and deepening students’ knowledge of foreign languages, especially French, and ensuring the training of highly qualified, well-trained specialists helps us, international students, to develop and improve our French language skills.
