A scientific-practical conference dedicated to ecological well-being has been held
On February 27, 2023, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan jointly with the Society for the Protection of Nature of Turkmenistan held a scientific and practical conference on the topic "The Importance of the National Program of Turkmenistan on the Aral Sea for 2021-2025". Gulnara Chariyarova, a specialist of the Society for the Protection of Nature of Turkmenistan, teaching staff and students of the Institute took part in the conference.
During the conference, the speakers noted that the country attaches great importance to the study of the Aral Sea issue, the issue which had a negative impact on the climate, ecology, and health of people living in the Aral Sea Region. In this regard, it was emphasized that the National Program of Turkmenistan on the Aral Sea for 2021-2025 envisages implementation of preventive measures taking into account the impact of natural factors and the improvement of the quality of medical services, the improvement of the management system and the use of water resources, the formation of forest zones and protect biodiversity.
The participants of the conference also highlighted importance of the Resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly "Cooperation between the United Nations and the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea", initiated by Turkmenistan.
