The delegation of Turkmenistan held a meeting at the Japanese agency for international cooperation
Issues of strengthening academic cooperation and scientific ties were discussed during the meeting on April 27, 2023 in Tokyo, Rector of the Institute of International Relations Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiev with Hirosawa Masayuki - Head of the Department for Central, East Asia and the Caucasus of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and with Daisuke Ueda , the head of the department of Humanitarian Development and Higher Education, the head of work with higher educational institutions of this agency
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan A. Bayramov and representatives of both sides. During the meeting, the parties considered a number of issues on the development of bilateral Turkmen-Japanese cooperation in the field of education.
A productive exchange of views took place on the issues of further expansion of relations in the field of higher education and the establishment of productive contacts in promising areas of bilateral cooperation.
During the meeting, it was proposed to consider the issues of JICA assistance in equipping the IMO training studio, cooperation in the field of information technology and the creation of an innovation cluster with the participation of the Japanese side. Particular attention was paid to student exchange issues. In these matters, the parties have extensive experience of cooperation.
In the speech of the rector of the IMO, Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, special emphasis was placed on the cooperation of the parties in these issues.
As it was noted, in different years, students and teachers of the IIR visited the "Land of the Rising Sun" on study visits organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and introduced the experience gained into the educational work of the IIR.
During the meeting, a special attention was also paid to the implementation of youth policy. Particular importance was given to the development of the role of youth in international relations and the activities taken to implement the strategy of international youth cooperation in Turkmenistan.
The meeting at JICA was an important step towards strengthening ties between the governments of the two countries.
