INTELLECTUAL COMPETITION “MASTER THE LANGUAGE, MASTER YOUR WORLD” DEDICATED TO THE English Language Week
On Aprel 19 2024, an intellectual competition Brain-Ring, titled “Master the Language, Master Your World ” was held among students of four faculties of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, as part of the English Language Week.
According to the terms of the intellectual competition, there were 5 categories such as phrasal verbs and idioms with sentences, random questions, translation tasks, figures of speech, outstanding people, and history. Students demonstrated in-depth knowledge in all categories such as English grammar, explanation of phraseological expressions and idioms, assignments on history, geography, guessing and brief information about prominent people, and improved their skills in translating given sentences.
According to the results of the competition, the jury announced the winners. The winners were: a team of students from the Faculty of International Law took the 1st place, a team of students from the Faculty of International Journalism took the 2nd place, a team of students from the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of International Economic Relations together took the 3rd place.
It should be noted that English Week promotes cultural connections and gives students a great opportunity to enhance speaking, reading, writing and listening which are the five important skills that students need to master during the academic year. The aim of this English Week is to engage students in the English language in order to improve achievement in all skills in learning.
Our honourable President pays special attention to the development of science and education. The issue of learning foreign languages of the Turkmen youth plays an important role in the education system. Knowledge of other foreign languages provides ample opportunities for in-depth study of the peculiarities of cultures, traditions and history of different nations.
At the end of the competition, the participants expressed their gratitude to our Hero Arkadag and our esteemed President for their tireless care for young people and state activities aimed at the further development of the national education system.
