A MEETING WAS HELD WITH THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR FOR EUROPE AND IN CENTRAL ASIA IN UN DEVELOPMENT COORDINATION OFFICE
On September 16, 2022, a meeting was held with the participants of Regional Director of the United Nations Development Coordination Office (UNDCO) for Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Gwi-Yeop Son and UN Resident Coordinator, Dmitry Shlapachenko at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with the UN Office in Turkmenistan. The meeting was attended by the students of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the International University for the Humanities and Development.
During the meeting, the students asked the guests some questions about the activities of the UN and they were especially interested in relations in the field of energy, transport, ecology, health care. Ms. Gwi-Yeop Son shared her work experience with the students.
During the meeting, much attention was paid to the importance of combining efforts in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and they also listened to the proposals of the students to achieve the national sustainable development goals in Turkmenistan. So, the guests once more emphasized the importance of youth opinions in this field.
It is noteworthy that this year marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to the UN membership. This is evidence that under the leadership of our honourable President, our state is successfully implementing a domestic and foreign policy strategy, carrying out joint projects as well as a number of international initiatives and effectively interacting within the framework of the work of this organization.
