A METHODOLOGICAL SEMINAR TITLED «THE GREAT SILK ROAD – AN EXAMPLE OF THE PEACEFUL AND GOOD-NEIGHBORLY NEUTRALITY POLICY OF ANCIENT TURKMEN STATES» WAS HELD
On October 23, 2026, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted an educational and methodological seminar dedicated to the topic «The Great Silk Road – An Example of the Peaceful and Good-Neighborly Neutrality Policy of Ancient Turkmen States» led by Bayrammyrat Almyradov, a lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences.
During the event, insightful presentations highlighted how the Great Silk Road played a pivotal role in facilitating dialogue between two great civilizations—the West and the East. It was emphasized that along these trade routes, not only goods were transported, but also scientific knowledge, educational ideas, cultural and spiritual values, technological discoveries, and economic management practices were actively exchanged. Furthermore, speakers underscored the vital role of the Great Silk Road in strengthening regional ecological stability and well-being, as well as its significance in fostering diplomatic relations and, above all, maintaining peace.
The presentations particularly stressed that in ancient times, the Silk Road served as an unprecedented transcontinental corridor connecting East and West, passing directly through the territory of modern Turkmenistan.
The seminar also included a detailed discussion on the significance of the wise teachings, guidance on patriotism, and principles of courage articulated by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, our Hero-Arkadag. The event concluded with an engaging and interactive Q&A session.
