A Training Session with a Belgian Expert
On May 12, 2025, a training session was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the participation of the blogger Derya Sojsal, an environmental expert specializing in the history and geography of Central Asia, and the active member of Belgium’s "Diplomatic World" institute. The session was attended by students of the Faculty of International Journalism of the Institute.
During the session, the Belgian expert emphasized that since gaining its state independence, Turkmenistan has been recognized as a neutral country that contributes to regional stability through its peace-loving initiatives. She proudly noted the importance of the International Year of Peace and Trust, declared by the United Nations General Assembly on Turkmenistan’s initiative, and spoke about the large-scale activities and efforts carried out by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium in this regard.
Furthermore, the Belgian blogger, based on her own experience, spoke in detail about the importance of journalism in promptly delivering local, regional, and global news to the public, and highlighted the advantages of digital platforms to students studying journalism.
At the end of the session, students received satisfactory answers to their questions of interest.
