Productive Meeting with representatives of the University of New Mexico of the USA and the IIRMFA of Turkmenistan
On May 10, 2023, a meeting was held between the University of New Mexico, USA, and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan via video communication. It was attended by the representatives of higher education institutions of the two countries – G.Yusupova, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Institute of International Relations, B. Karaev, PhD in Philosophy, and M.Berdiniyazov, the lecturers of the Department of the Diplomacy and International Relations as well as from American side, Nicole Tami, Ph.D., Executive Director of Global Education Initiatives, University of New Mexico, Alana McGrattan, Social chairman of Albuquerque and vice chairman of the Ashgabat Twin Cities Club and the representative of the Embassy of Turkmenistan to the USA. The representatives of both side made meaningful speeches on the bilateral relations of both higher educational institutions.
At the beginning of the meeting, the sides got acquainted with the scientific, educational activities of both universities. It should be noted that within the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of the Memorandum of Understanding proposed between the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the University of New Mexico, USA. The parties also noted that if the proposal is agreed upon, it will later be possible to sign it during the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan, which are scheduled to be held in Albuquerque, USA, on October 23-24 this year.
During the meeting, the representatives discussed issues on further development of cooperation in the fields of co-organizing future workshops, conducting scientific and practical research and mutual invitations to participate in academic activities as well as exchange of curricula.
