A New Step in Modernizing the Education and Science System
On February 3, 2026, a meeting was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to hand over equipment and supplies. This meeting was conducted within the framework of the Small-scale Official Development Assistance (ODA) Program for 2025 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea with representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Turkmenistan and the leadership of the Institute in attendance.
During the meeting, the high level of political, diplomatic, economic, and cultural relations between the two countries was emphasized. These relations, based on the principles of equality, mutual respect, and goodwill, have developed actively and reached a qualitatively new level in recent years. This is clearly evidenced by the activities carried out within the framework of the Small-Scale ODA Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea for 2025.
The Small-scale Official Development Assistance (ODA) Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea for 2025 is a program aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between states, specifically focusing on modernizing the material and technical base in the fields of education and technology. In 2025, the Republic of Korea allocated a record amount for ODA in the world — approximately 6.5 trillion won (around 4.8 billion US dollars).
In cooperation with Turkmenistan, the mission of this program is to further deepen the partnership between the two countries, introduce South Korea's advanced technologies into Turkmen institutions, and create opportunities for young specialists to work with technologies that meet modern standards.
