President of Turkmenistan received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia
On October 9, 2023, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, who heads the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Expressing sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for taking the time to receive the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani, Chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, he expressed his great interest in strengthening the fruitful cooperation with neutral Turkmenistan, which has a creative policy of the OSCE and makes a significant contribution to ensuring peace, security, and stability at the regional and international levels as well as the discussion focused on the ongoing challenges in the region, such as border management, energy security and climate change, as well as Turkmenistan’s reform agenda.
The guest highly appreciated the importance of integrated activities aimed at implementing the agreements reached between Turkmenistan with the OSCE and other major international organizations in recent years, emphasizing that the country plays an active role in solving issues such as implementing joint projects and developing regional and international cooperation.
Our esteemed President emphasized the importance of coordinating actions within this international structure, strengthening mutual understanding and trust between states, improving well-being of people, as well as the OSCE has a great role in conducting political dialogue on a wide range of issues. As it was highlighted that the currently relations between Turkmenistan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) have a dynamic character, and that they are constantly being developed on a programmatic basis in various areas.
In recent years, parliamentary cooperation has complemented bilateral relations. In this regard, it was noted that in May, 2023 the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe jointly held an international conference entitled “The role of neutral states in strengthening security, stability and dialogue within the framework of the OSCE”. In addition, our esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that that great importance is attached to ensuring human rights, democratic principles and the rule of law at the state level, and emphasized that cooperation in this field will be continued within the framework of the OSCE.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Macedonia Bujar Osmani, who chairs the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, expressed his gratitude to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov for paying special attention to the issues of cooperation with the OSCE, and noted that it was a great honor for him to be in Turkmenistan. He assured that he would make every effort to further develop long-term cooperation based on the principles of trust.
